Senior Manager, Treasury and Accounting

 

Job Description

As a member of the Bertelsmann, Inc. Treasury department, the Senior Manager, Treasury and Accounting serves as a central resource for all Bertelsmann subsidiaries in the United States related to cash and liquidity management. This role plays a critical role in daily cash management activities including, but not limited to, cash positioning, cash reconciliation, intercompany loans, overnight investments, and intercompany funding. Individuals in the role are also responsible for maintaining relationships with the parent company’s corporate treasury, US subsidiaries, and US preferred banks. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•    Incorporate all cash activity into the daily cash worksheet 
•    Run balance reporting, disbursement, and other bank reports for various subsidiaries
•    Attend bank meetings and conference calls with preferred banks and Parent Company
•    Create and review wire transfers and ACH payments
•    Manage daily cash balances and overnight investments
•    Maintain treasury related documentation and bank account signors 
•    Build and maintain ongoing cash forecasts for the US cash pool
•    Manage intercompany loans
•    Bank account management/administration
•    Track and renew letters of credit for US subsidiaries as needed
•    Monitor and analyze bank fees 
•    Perform monthly P&L variance analysis (budget to actual)
•    Assist in the preparation of the annual budgeting process
•    Prepare annual controls and compliance assessments and analyses
•    Other ad-hoc accounting and treasury related assignments, including supporting financial closing activities and technical accounting matters

 

Minimum Requirements
•    A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
•    5-10 years of related work experience
•    Ability to work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation and comfort with financial analysis
•    Advanced interpersonal skills and client service orientation with a focus on high quality service to internal and external stakeholders
•    Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects
•    Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•    Must have a sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it
•    Strong analytical capability 
•    Self-motivated
•    Committed to quality and continuous improvement
