JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for following and ensuring that all crew members follow proper safety procedures and policies.

Responsible for the setup and production of the case-making operations including maintenance, house-

keeping, adherence to quality and production standards, schedules, and customer specifications. Has overall

responsibility to oversee and direct the safety, quality, and production activities of the assigned crew. Overtime as business needs dictate, Wage consideration for previous experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1) Responsible for following and ensuring that all assigned crew members are in compliance with applicable safety procedures.

2) Responsible for the setup and running of the machine according to the job order, customer, and bindery quality specifications while meeting established production standards.

3) Maintains quality by continuously monitoring the feed of the material rolls, metering of the glue application to the case material, glue consistency or viscosity, the squareness of the board application to the case material, squareness of the boards, size of the turn-ins, tight folds of the turn-ins, show on the case, backspace - width and square, cut of the corners, separate cut off, electronic corner tucks, and square of finished cases.

4) Monitors and controls waste by assuring all production issues are promptly addressed, that all repairable cases, material, boards, and other components are used and that machine setup is done with minimal product loss.

5) Maintains proper records including electronic machine reports, electronic finished job and shortage reports, online job orders, job folders, and machine PM records and checklists as required.

6) Assists and works closely with the crew and supervision to ensure applicable safety, job quality, bindery quality, customer quality, and departmental production standards are met.

7) Ensures that the bindery office copy procedures are strictly adhered to.

8) Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer and production schedules.

INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS

1) Performs housekeeping, and PM instruction, and keeps machine and work area clean.

2) Any other job or job requested by department or plant supervision whether within or in another department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1) Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow written instructions

2) Possess basic math skills including comprehension of fractions

3) Ability to use measuring devices and small hand tools and learn the use of a refractometer

4) Possess mechanical aptitude

5) Needs basic computer skills

6) Willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures.

7) Quality conscious

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1) Lifting - Up to 50 lbs.

2) Standing - Entire Shift

3) Bending/Reaching Moderate

Salary: From $16.50 per hour
