Social Media & Digital Manager

Position Overview:  The Social Media & Digital Manager will assist management and team in developing  campaigns for projects, and through social media and other key online platforms, maximizes awareness and exposure to an online audience. This position strategizes, implements, and improves the public profile of each artist, incorporating the project vision with emerging trends and technologies to create fun, compelling and effective content that drives fans and consumers. The Social Media & Digital Manager regularly reports on opportunities for viral-ability and for maximizing the impact of projects.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assists in establishing brand identity for projects on social media channels and other online platforms.
  2. Assists in social media plans to build sustainable brands in the US marketplace for projects while meeting agreed and long-term sales targets. 
  3. Provides day-to-day support of US media relations programs, including activities within global project plan.
  4. Analyzes consumer data for multiple projects and upon approval, adjusts campaigns when necessary.  
  5. Assists in educating artists on emerging technologies and best social media practices.
  6. Assists with creating publishing schedules for artists and manages social media channels for artists when necessary. Channel management duties include engaging questions and reviews, and reporting user-generated content about the artist/project.  Reports notable threats to appropriate internal management.
  7. Monitors established benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyzes, reviews, and reports on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  8. Helps the team to design and implement promotions, competitions, and giveaways on artists’ social media channels and online platforms. 
  9. Conducts online advocacy and opens streams for cross-promotions with artists and key tastemakers/content providers. 
  10. Maintains relationships with key tastemakers/content providers.
  11. Makes recommendations for exclusive series and content development for new digital/social sponsorships.

 

 

Department Support:

  1. Assists public relations department with copy text to draft announcements to media, as well as procuring and supporting online promotions.
  2. Compares analytics from Facebook, Google, YouTube, Shazam, Next Big Sound, etc with sales and streaming data to make educated decisions on future campaigns and keep the staff informed on best practices.
  3. Collaborates with other teams, including marketing, sales and corporate communications, to ensure brand consistency.
  4. Helps manage direct relationships with key digital partners such as Shazam, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat.
  5. Suggests opportunities for ad sales and marketing initiatives.
  6. Advises/provides written and visual assets in line with agreed branding and communications strategies for projects.

 

Experience:

  1. College Degree in a related field
  2. 3-5 years’ experience in social media, communications for the music industry or US retail setting
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Ability to manage a multi-project workflow
