Transport Manager

Heijen, Limburg | Full-time | up to € 5.251, -- gross per month  | hbo- wo-niveau | High Tech

The Transport Manager will advise on complex transport issues, lead RFQs, consult on strategic transport concepts and manage implementation projects. You will be responsible for all transport related topics for a set of customers in the NL TECH industry. Depending on the nature of the customer (s), the responsibility of the Transport Manager can be local and/or on global level. In this role you report into the Director Account Management & Operations based in the Netherlands and you will have a strong dotted line into responsible business partner who is based in Germany.

What will you do as a Transport Manager at Arvato?
As a Transport manager you are the central point of contact in RFQ’s, new customer implementation and in the optimization of existing transport network. 
For all transport related topics you take work closely together with the customer, solution design and key account management. 
You optimize and monitor transport solutions for a defined set of customers in the national and/or international environment and support internal customers in the event of escalations. 
You are responsible for process optimization within transport management for your responsible customers.  
You are in direct contact with the carriers, are part of the business reviews and you actively contribute to ensure on-time carrier performance
Use cost, quality, and service metrics to evaluate each carrier’s performance and to implement transportation best practices for your responsible set of customers. 
 
Qualifications you bring with you as a Transport Planner

A Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Supply Chain, Business Logistics;
5+ years of transportation experience, preferable in an European 3PL environment;
Experience managing a complex, multi-modal transportation network;
High level of interest and understanding of IT related Transport management systems;
Extensive experience in customer and project management;
Strong communication skills on all levels, including customer communication.
