Materials Purchasing Representative

Summary

We are seeking a qualified, self-starting individual to join the Louisville distribution center team. This role will work closely with account management and demand planning to enable purchasing requirements on behalf of one of the world's leading cloud technology companies. As part of our team, you would ensure that our facilities carry sufficient inventory for data server components. Your responsibilities will be heavily focused on procuring our clients server components from suppliers and OEM's, as well as working in a cross functional role between Operations, Account Management and Service Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out purchase request for all sites based on material requirements
• Coordinate and monitor inbound deliveries to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage supplier RFQs and drive supplier price optimizations
• Liaise between client and suppliers to ensure material availability is maintained
• Problem solve supply chain disruptions in a timely manor
• Ensure purchase documents (PO, packing list, CI, customs declaration, etc.) are archived
• Setup vendors and maintain info records in ERP system (e.g. pricing, LT)
• Support the implementation of new processes throughout the supply chain
• Establish and maintain process documentations and work instructions
• Support adhoc projects and tasks

Minimum Requirements: 

• Associates degree
• 2 years’ experience in purchasing and/or materials management

Additional Experience:

• Knowledge in international shipping (import, export, customs)  
• Experience in buying server components is a plus 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and with teams  
• Assertive, analytical, and able to establish priorities 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
• Good working knowledge of SAP 
• Ability to work in a demanding, problem-solving oriented environment 
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
