Senior Transport Coordinator

As a Transport Coordinator you support domestic and export distribution through the development and maintenance of transportation strategy to maximize on-time delivery with the lowest costs in line with our Quality standards.


Due to the growth in the Netherlands we seek a Transport Coordinator who can streamline different internal and external customer requests related to transportation in all different areas: parcel, pallet, road, sea, air, B2B, B2C, etc. The initial focus will be on High-tech customers but in principle all different type of customers could send in requests for support.    


In this role you report into the Director Account Management & Operations based in the Netherlands, but you will also work closely with the Transport teams based in Germany where specific carrier relations/ solution design teams/ procurement are located. At this moment the Transport Coordinator will have no direct reports.

Here is a brief description of your work:
•    Work closely with IT, carrier management, clearing and accounting, transportation management and local service delivery contacts to ensure a successful transportation service offering

•    Review and monitor transportation cost and margins and drive continuous improvement through analysis and improvements
•    Manage Transport related projects (new requests internal/ external customers)
•    Coordinate Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and implement transportation best practices
•    Monitor service levels, root cause analysis, initiate service improvements
•    Solve logistical issues related to the transportation flows
•    Drive best practices to optimize the network and to improve process efficiencies
•    Coordinate with internal and external customers and vendors to determine the most efficient and cost effective shipping methods for inbound and outbound shipments
•    Liaise with corporate transportation to leverage best practices and consistency
•    Leading contact person for all transportation issues (including escalation point)

What we are looking for in your cv and application:
•    A Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Supply Chain, Business Logistics, Industrial Business, Business administration or similar.
•    5+ years logistics experience of which at least 3 years related to transportation solutions and offerings
•    Experience managing a complex, multi-modal transportation network serving both domestic and export markets
•    Knowledgeable Transport related IT, Power BI, SAP and EDI to carries and experience with implementing (IT) systems

•    Must have a strong working knowledge of carrier operations and costs across different transport modes
•    Analytical and reporting skills
•    Familiarity and working knowledge of transportation contracts and negotiation of terms and conditions

•    IT skills or experience with SAP, EDI and TMS and also with emplementing (IT) systems
