Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the VP of Student Affairs, the Student Affairs Specialist will work with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that support the student co-curricular experience, including alumni relations, career services, student conduct/student issue resolution, wellness initiatives, and other services. These programs will positively impact traditional and non-traditional, campus-based, and online/distance learners in a matrix structure and will advance recruitment, learning outcomes, assessment, student engagement, student persistence, alumni career attainment, alumni engagement, and ongoing accreditation/regulatory needs. S/he will use technology, data analytics, and engagement metrics to measure success.
Salary range: $68,640 commensurate with experience, skills and education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience: Five to eight (5-8) years of demonstrated knowledge of student affairs/student services and higher education.
Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None.

Ability to initiate appropriate actions and make systematic changes to anticipate students' needs, expectations, and requirements to avoid problem situations and/or increase the probability of desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated evidence of strong leadership, interpersonal, supervision and management skills to work effectively with all levels within the University and develop informal and formal cooperative relationships among diverse, multifunctional departments.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. Ability to inspire and motivate students, alumni, and external constituents. Confident, positive, professional demeanor working with internal and external facing constituents.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to manage several projects simultaneously and ability to meet deadlines: problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills to research and analyze data and information from a variety of sources to make sound recommendations and decisions. Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Direct experience in the administration of student conduct, student co-curricular experiences, and programs that support the student experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs, workshops and special events.
• Experience with student service platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs and oversight of University General Counsel, conduct thorough and prompt investigations and support resolution of discrimination and harassment grievance and/or complaints from students against other students.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies, educational programs, and interventions to support the mental, emotional, and physical health of students. Point of contact for Student Assistance Program and conduct wellness checks as needed - work closely with the University community to ensure that services are socialized and utilized by students to support student success and persistence.
• Provide University leadership and management suggestions/recommendations for professional best practices to deliver comprehensive and specialized services that support the growth, development, and welfare of students.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of advanced technological applications and web-based interfaces for increased efficiencies and improved student services and engagement.
• Assist with administrating student satisfaction and other surveys in conjunction with the Institutional Research Department and the Vice President of Student Affairs. Assist in other state-mandated data collect as needed. Contribute to developing self-study materials for program review, WSCUC, APA, CCTC, ACBSP, COAMFTE, and other accreditation needs.
• Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed.

Interacts with supervisor to review work plans and/or review of work results. This position will work closely with university students of all current colleges, School Deans, Campus Associate Directors, Faculty, Admissions, Financial Aid/Student Business Services, Student Advising, Academic Support, Military and Veterans Affairs, Institutional Research, and Compliance to achieve Key Performance Objectives. The Senior Student Affairs Specialist will interact with various individuals at all institution levels.
External:
Interacts with prospective students & family members, regional and national employers, and assorted vendors.
Primary Work Location & Travel Requirements:
Work Location: Remote Travel: 25% (campus locations once a month).
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed for support of special events/special initiatives.
