Position Summary:

The Intern Support Specialist, under the general direction of Assistant Dean of CSOE or equivalent, will manager and verify Intern Verification Documents. The position regularly works with the Clinical Practice department, the Accountability and Compliance Officer, Placement Lead and TPA Manager, Academic Advising and the Credential Department staff to ensure highest quality programming that meets/exceeds regulatory and licensing standards. Position is responsible for collecting data that contributes to systemic program changes and reports that are required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) accreditation standards. The specialist will also maintain tracking forms for Clinical Practice I-IV Intern candidates. This position will participate in Clinical Practice Office Hours.  The Intern Specialist along with the Student Teaching Specialist will facilitate the required training for district-employed supervisors (DES). The Support Specialist will facilitate Clinical Extension courses.

 

Starting Salary: $28.17 an hour ($56,000 annualized).

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience:  Five (5) years of experience in student records/academic advising/teaching or clinical practice in teacher education. Experience with online platform. Understands the lifecycle of networking/public relations with school districts, principals, master teachers. Outreach and enhancement of two-way communication with District Employee Supervisors (DES).

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Valid teaching credential.

 

Skills:

•             Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially SharePoint, Excel; Adobe; CampusNexus, Feith, Cognos or similar databases.

•             Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

•             High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.

•             Ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms.

•             Ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines.

•             Drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates toward task completion.

•             Ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and employees, as well as the Registrar’s Office and various academic departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•             Coordinates and manages the required 10 hours of initial orientation and ongoing required program support for district-employed supervisors (DES).

•             Coordinate and manage District Support Provider (DSP) Stipend.

•             Intern representative for weekly SERC meetings.

•             Manage Individualized Development Plans (IDP) and Clinical Practice Email accounts (CSOEIDP@alliant.edu, CSOEClinicalPracticeFieldwork@alliant.edu).

•             Oversee Intern candidates IDP requirements.

•             Provides weekly IDP Office Hours.

•             Provides weekly Clinical Practice Office Hours with the Student Teaching Specialist.

•             Coordinates and Manages Cooperating Teacher and district data.

•             Manages Intern Tracking Forms.

•             Coordinates and manages regular communication and expectations, handbooks, Welcome Letters, Supervision Calendar, etc., 

•             Coordinates and Manages documentation from online portals and online surveys.

•             Coordination of intern candidates with edTPA and serve as liaison with their edTPA Coaches.

•             Coordination of TPA.

•             Coordinates and Manages Association Management System (AMS).

•             Facilitate Clinical Clearance Extension courses; integrate extension courses within Office Hours/Individualized Support Meetings.

•             Participate and/or lead team and/or department meetings with staff and others as designated.

•             Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or directed.

Direct Reports: None.

Indirect Reports: None.

 

Contact Responsibility:

Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results.  This position with work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e., Admissions, Student Advising, Registrar, etc.) to support both students and colleagues in achieving student success and Department goals. 

External: Interacts with prospective students, to provide advice and support, as well as various State Credentialing Departments, School districts (K-12), and colleagues in other universities.  

 

Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements:

Office Location:  Remote.

Work Hours:  Standard office hours, occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Travel:  Occasional.
