Editorial Assistant, Random House Children's Books

Random House Children’s Books seeks an Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and editorial support to the Editorial Director of Little Golden Books and an Executive Editor. The assistant will be involved in the creation of Little Golden Books, Little Golden Book Biographies, and a varied list of books for babies, preschoolers, and young readers featuring Richard Scarry, Berenstain Bears, and other beloved brands.  

 

Responsibilities include: 

• Providing general administrative support to supervisors: ordering author copies, requesting Library of Congress numbers, generating profit and loss statements, scheduling meetings, handling reprint correction requests

• Assisting with research and fact checking for our nonfiction and biography titles

• Creating PowerPoint slides for meetings

• Writing cover copy and title information sheets

 

Please apply if you have the following qualifications:

• Interest in children’s books for babies through age eight

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multi-task 

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

• Keen attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

 

*This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, administrative duties, and special projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA)

 

The salary range for this position is $48,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results. Please include a cover letter with your resume.
