VP, Global Insights & Analytics

Los Angeles, California

As the VP of Global Marketing Insights & Analytics, your mission is to oversee and develop the Marketing Insights & Analytics team and its strategy, aiming to grow audience, optimize sales, and streaming revenues for frontline, catalog, and international releases. You will be responsible for providing data insights, analysis, recommendations, and decision-making support to the business, serving as a central source for quantitative and qualitative research and analysis for Artists, executive management and the marketing and sales teams.

 

Additionally, you will focus on proactive recommendations to help shape the future of digital marketing plans, spend, and strategy. This role will actively identify trends, and conduct consumer behavior analysis across all key and emerging on digital platforms. Your role will also involve implementing tools to enable comprehensive and efficient data analytics, as well as creating reports and dashboards to provide clear insights. You'll need to demonstrate creativity, take initiative, and effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments within the business.

 

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Lead a high-performing, cross-functional team of data experts to create actionable insights that empower marketing, commerce, and artist teams to make data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee and develop a high-performing Global Marketing Insights & Analytics team, fostering a collaborative culture and aligning team objectives with business goals.
  • Define and implement a forward-thinking data strategy that maximizes commerce and streaming revenue for frontline, catalog, and international releases across BMG’s global music ecosystem.
  • You'll be responsible for examining large, complex datasets from multiple sources, applying a range of analytical tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights and drive informed decision-making.
  • Leverage emerging technologies, tools, and data platforms to push the boundaries of what’s possible, ensuring our analytics capabilities stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Develop intuitive reports and dynamic dashboards that distill complex insights into clear, compelling stories, guiding business decisions and influencing BMG’s global release strategy.
  • Have existing strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business and serve as a trusted advisor in decision-making processes.
  • Leverage social and digital marketing data to craft insightful metrics that measure key performance indicators, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive deeper consumer engagement and elevate the overall consumer experience
  • Act as a primary point of contact for Executive Management, delivering insights and recommendations on key projects and ad-hoc research through regular, impactful presentations
  • Proactively lead analyses across artists, releases, labels, platforms, markets, and industry trends, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations that drive business decisions and growth.

 

Must-Haves

  • We’re looking for a self-starter and proactive leader with a passion for numbers and a deep interest in understanding audience and consumer behavior, driving data-driven insights to fuel strategic decisions.
  • Extensive experience in data analytics and insights, with proven expertise in analyzing large-scale data sets, particularly in the music, entertainment, or digital media industries.
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, and YouTube, with experience optimizing marketing strategies and increasing streaming revenue.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams, setting strategic goals, and fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Deep understanding of marketing analytics and the ability to develop and execute data-driven strategies that enhance audience engagement and revenue growth.
  • Experience building strong relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, providing data-driven insights that influence high-level business decisions.
  • Proficiency with advanced data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, and familiarity with emerging technologies in data analytics.
  • Proficiency with Luminate, Chartmetric, and other industry data tools.
  • A strong track record of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business growth and performance improvements.
  • Must have a great attitude, team collaborator and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion and understanding for social consumer behavior and engagement with artists channels, products and content.

Pay Range

$150,000 - $180,000 per annum

The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
