TEMP - Sr. Coordinator, Sync Licensing

Your Mission
BMG Sync Licensing is responsible for handling all inbound synchronization requests from third party sync clients across visual media, including (but not limited to) film, television, video games, sports, promos/trailers, ad hoc, etc. This fast-paced, dynamic team works with a broad roster of clients, including film/tv studios, ad agencies, networks, production companies, video game developers, trailer houses, merch companies, law firms, music clearance houses, live stage theatrical production companies and more.
As a member of the local Clearance/Negotiation team in this temporary role, you’ll be responsible for handling inbound sync requests from local clients/customers, negotiating sync fees, optimizing and quoting on sync usages with third parties, and liaising with BMG’s songwriters, artists and affiliates to secure contractual consent prior to formal approval. This role will own the end-to-end clearance, negotiation and quoting process for local sync requests, all while enhancing revenue opportunities, staying up to speed with local market trends and practices, and cultivating strong relationships with internal and external clients.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serving as a key point of contact for negotiating, clearing, quoting, and securing third party approval as needed, for all inbound sync requests in local territory for synchronization clients.
- Troubleshooting and working through complications as they arise, including, but not limited to: research and/or collaboration to identify appropriate splits, liaise with Rights & Royalties and/or Copyright on counterclaims, approval party nuances and/or other various aspects of the clearance/quoting process.
- Fielding inbound requests and inquiries to relevant Clearance team member as needed.
- Using BMG’s systems appropriately to prepare confirmed sync documentation for Licensing Administration team to issue long-form synchronization license agreements.
- Staying informed about industry trends across relevant media lanes in local territory, exercising proper quoting strategy to capture highest revenue potential.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with songwriters/artists and their representatives, music supervisors, advertising agencies, film/TV production companies, and other key stakeholders and industry professionals.
- Reporting upward current trends, clearance and negotiation pain points, industry happenings, and sync highlights to Direct Lead.
- Cross-collaboration with Creative Sync/Sales squads on shared projects, pitching/quoting strategies, etc.
- Liaising with Licensing Administration team to ensure quoting language is in line with long-form synchronization license agreements.
- Collaboration (both globally and locally) with other Sync colleagues and Production Music/Sales teams as appropriate.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience in sync licensing, including a strong understanding of local market rates and standard practices.
- Proven negotiation and deal-making skills.
- Working knowledge of copyright laws and/or local societies.
- Established network/relationships with local sync clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage key information upward and outward.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a solutions‑oriented approach.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, productive environment.
- Comfortable navigating complex or sensitive situations with diverse clients.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and with relative autonomy.

Pay Range
$30.00 - $32.00 per hour
The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
