Director, Marketing New Recordings

Your Mission
We’re seeking a Director to join our team in LA to lead the development and execution of strategic marketing campaigns for BMG’s frontline recording projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of campaign planning and execution—from content strategy and budgeting to cross departmental coordination and artist management communication. The Director will drive innovative marketing initiatives that grow audience engagement and revenue, with a strong focus on reaching Generation Y, Millennials, and Generation Alpha audiences in the pop genre, while also adapting strategies for other key demographics as needed. This position serves as a central point of collaboration across internal teams, external partners, and artist management to ensure successful launches and sustained campaign impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee all core campaign functions including content creation, project P&Ls, asset management, hiring and management of independent/third party publicity, marketing and promotion teams, distributor coordination, and overall campaign execution.
- Manage day-to-day marketing activities for assigned recording projects.
- Create, allocate, and administer marketing budgets while overseeing projects from concept through completion.
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans, manage them throughout the campaign lifecycle, and support execution across teams.
- Lead marketing strategies focused on Generation Y, Millennials, and Generation Alpha audiences—particularly within the pop genre to drive revenue growth, while adapting campaigns for additional key demographics when appropriate.
- Partner closely with the Digital team to build and implement strategic online marketing initiatives for each artist.
- Oversee coordination across internal departments, leveraging organization-wide resources to ensure effective brand launches, positioning, and ongoing campaign support.
- Liaise with international colleagues when appropriate to support global marketing efforts for artist campaigns outside the U.S.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for artist management teams on assigned projects.
- Act as the central point of communication for internal teams across BMG regarding assigned campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships across the music industry to identify new marketing opportunities and maximize release impact.
- Leverage established industry relationships to position priority projects effectively in the marketplace.
- Ensure alignment across all team members and partners with the overall marketing strategy for each release.
- Maintain clear communication between departments including A&R Administration, Legal, Creative Sync & Licensing, Supply Chain, and Brand Partnerships regarding all campaign activities.
- Maintain consistent communication with artist managers, artists, attorneys, and other industry stakeholders engaged in business with BMG.
- Identify potential artist or label partnership opportunities when appropriate to support the growth of the recorded music business and expand the BMG roster.
What You Bring
- Previous experience working in the music industry.
- Prior marketing experience at a record label.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive campaigns from strategy through execution.
- Strong organizational and budget management skills.
- Proven relationship-building skills within the music and entertainment industry.

Pay Range
$90,000 - $110,000 per annum
The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs.
