Job Description
The Yard Driver at Arvato plays a critical role in supporting efficient yard operations, ensuring the safe and timely movement of trailers and equipment. This position is responsible for performing essential yard jockey duties, including conducting yard checks and supporting the daily flow of operations.
Shift: Third Shift, Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
YOUR TASKS
- Safely operate a terminal tractor to move trailers throughout the yard.
- Perform daily inspections of containers and yard equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate and manage trailer movement to support efficient and safe yard operations.
- Identify and report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or operational concerns.
- Maneuver and position trailers up to 53 feet within the yard, including customer drop-off areas.
- Remove trailers from dock doors and relocate them to designated staging or storage areas.
- Maintain all movements within the yard (no over-the-road driving required).
- Support warehouse operations as needed, including assisting with unloading activities.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- CDL Class A required.
- Strong understanding of driving safety standards and regulations.
- Previous experience as a Yard Driver preferred.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as stand-up forklifts, cherry pickers, and reach trucks preferred.
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed, including occasional manual unloading of trailers.
- Flexibility to support operations across multiple locations, including Louisville and Shepherdsville.
- Prior experience with yard management software a plus.
