This role supports Arvato’s newest data center services, delivering critical solutions such as high-security transport, white-glove delivery, and technical support. Our clients include hyperscale data center operators, high-tech freight forwarders, co-location providers, and Software as a Service (SaaS) companies.
As a Health & Safety Specialist you will drive health and safety excellence across our operations, ensuring compliance with US and international regulations, fostering a positive safety culture, and collaborating closely with both internal teams and external clients to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable services.
YOUR TASKS
- Conduct regular risk assessments (RAMS), site inspections, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- Manage the investigation of incidents, including root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, review, and update Health and Safety procedures, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
- Ensure compliance with US and international H&S regulations, codes of practice, and internal policies.
- Deliver and coordinate safety training programs, Safety talks, and inductions for employees and contractors.
- Lead and participate in site safety meetings, audits, and reviews with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure that all required permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.
- Collaborate closely with technical services managers, vendors, customers and site teams to ensure safe systems of work are in place.
- Promote a positive safety culture by engaging with staff at all levels and leading by example.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, ensuring clear communication on H&S matters and alignment with their safety expectations.
YOUR PROFILE
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- A degree in Health & Safety or an OSHA-recognized H&S diploma preferred
- Proven Health & Safety experience with a focus on RAMS preparation and implementation.
- Skilled in liaising with customers during project mobilization and delivery.
- Solid knowledge of US Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexible and willing to travel extensively across the US.
- Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with MS SharePoint in a corporate environment.
- ISO 45001:2018 or other quality management approaches preferred.
