Operations Supervisor
Job Description
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the labor and equipment of the assigned warehouse department, ensuring timely completion and quality of orders. Your work will align with our commitment to exceeding customer expectations. This role involves planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of items from suppliers or production shops. You will manage labor resources effectively while prioritizing orders with precision. The supervisor will train and supervise associates on assigned shifts.
- Hire and ensure proper training of new employees for the department
- Supervise and coordinate activities of employees and monitor departmental functions on the floor
- Receive and transfer materials
- Performance management of all employees (KPIs)
- Document, update, and ensure procedures and quality processes are followed
- Maintain supplies and equipment levels for the department
- Monitor and adhere to customer requests and vendor-specific shipping requirements
- Update and maintain timekeeping and metrics in business systems, as they relate to WMS reporting
- Ensure that shift-end specific department procedures with all systems are completed and floor end-of-shift closeout is followed
- New customer integration and migration testing
- Load and unload trucks
- Understand traffic coordination
- Continuous involvement and support with departmental process improvements
- Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
- Follow and maintain 5S Program and guidelines
- Perform any additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean, and goal-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment
- Knowledge of picking, packing, and shipping tasks
- SAP or equivalent WMS systems experience
- 3-5 years of Supervisory experience or equivalent work experience
- Ability to follow instructions, processes, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills
- Computer literacy
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with inventory research
- Team-oriented
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, notably Excel
