The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing Arvato’s business through new account acquisition.  This individual contacts and meets with potential new clients to understand their needs and help develop a solution to fill these requirements.  The Business

Development Manager serves as a strategic consultant to the new clients being pursued.  Critical to the position are the ability to set meaningful meetings, draft and give presentations, analyze responses and recommend solutions, draft proposals and close new business deals.


General Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in a client facing position in a print or publishing related environment where he/she has demonstrated the ability to grow revenue.

  • Identify new business opportunities for our health care business unit, our print management team, and other assigned business areas through significant cold calling and mail campaigns
  • Establish relationships with key decision makers at the executive level
  • Work closely with our solution, sales and management teams
  • Attend prospective client meetings, give presentations and respond appropriately to questions
  • Write quality proposals
  • Negotiate terms with new accounts
  • Attend industry conferences or trade shows as assigned
  • Prioritize work appropriately and multi-task with numerous opportunities and projects at one time
  • Identify customer’s goals and pain points and recommend an integrated solution along with a business roadmap
  • Travel as required



  • 2 years experience in a consultative client facing position, preferably direct sales
  • Working knowledge of Internet-based publishing and software
  • College degree or equivalent years of education
  • Ability to perform independently, prioritize work and work collaboratively with internal groups
  • Proven successful history of increasing revenue
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Key personal qualities include solid work ethic, initiative, strong integrity and accountability, high level of flexibility, creativity
