The Product Manager, Content is responsible for the creation, management, and merchandising of the online training products sold through Relias’ portfolio of ecommerce brands. This person will be responsible for understanding the training needs of each market, collaborating with internal SMEs to identify product opportunities, building and managing the products within our various learning management/content management systems, and collaborating with marketing, sales, and client care to launch new products. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Conducting market and competitive analysis to support eCommerce product development efforts
  • Leading the discovery process to understand customer needs and requirements as it relates to online training products
  • Working with product, content and accreditations teams to translate insights into detailed product requirements
  • Acquiring a deep understanding of your target customer segments
  • Being a champion for the retail products and priority market segments with Relias, and effectively advocating for the priorities to help the Marketplaces business unit succeed
  • Becoming a super-user for multiple online LMS and CMS platforms 
  • Communicating priorities based on well-defined and measured business cases
  • Creating and maintaining an internal-facing product release roadmap
  • Identifying and advocating for platform features and UX/UI enhancements that will support conversion rate optimization and revenue growth from managed product assortment
  • Creating and managing packages and subscriptions on various domains and platforms
  • Researching and recommending new products independently and with the help of Product Management organization
  • Ensuring packages are merchandised properly for eCommerce retail
  • With the help of Accreditations and Content organization, developing and adhering to a process to periodically review products to ensure they contain the required courses and meta data
  • Reporting on trends in package and subscription sales on a monthly basis
  • Providing product expertise to Product Marketing Managers and Channel Marketing Managers as needed
  • Leading website merchandising efforts as needed
  • Providing product positioning and copywriting support as needed

 
YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE/ARE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development or related field, or commensurate experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in product development or product marketing, ideally for a retail business
  • Self-starter with strong sense of ownership and ability to work autonomously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid presentation skills, and proven ability to run effective meetings; comfortable interacting at all levels of the organization
  • Extensive experience using web-based systems (e.g. website CMS, product databases, learning management systems, etc.), strong command of MS office products (especially Excel), and some experience with design software (e.g. Adobe creative suite)
  • Comfortable making product recommendations to leadership and providing evidence to build a supporting business case
  • Copywriting for a retail audience
  • Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO), specifically as it relates to web site content
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to achieve results through influence
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented; heavily focused on mitigating business risk by ensuring no assumptions are made in relation to product offerings 
  • Ability to develop long-term product plans/roadmap and manage to completion
  • Flexibility and adaptability are a must; comfortable working in a dynamic business environment and ability to shift priorities as needed
