The Business Systems Administrator (BSA) - Gainsight role is responsible for configuration, maintenance, and support of Gainsight and related applications.



  • Acts as the administrator of Gainsight and related systems integrations
  • Configure, deploy, and administer the Gainsight platform (system configuration, reports, dashboards, end-to-end workflows, systems integrations) within an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional end users to gather business requirements that impact Gainsight and the CRM, and configure the system to meet those needs (partnering with other operations teams as needed)
  • Understand data flows and integrations between multiple enterprise applications. Use systems knowledge to design scalable solutions across all applications.
  • Evangelizes and champions platform excellence, including data governance, security controls, optimal administration of roles, profiles, objects, fields, etc. 
  • Translates user requirements and user stories into actionable items. Develops strong relationship with Client Success in support of their strategy and vision. Support and advocate for Client Success through optimal use of Gainsight. 
  • Participate in Agile meetings including daily standup, design review, code review, CAB approval, and retrospectives. 
  • Day-to-day end user support and resolve software help-desk tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Day-to-day support may include user provisioning, monitoring system performance, user activity, and user experience.
  • Ad-hoc assistance with metrics, reporting, and analysis related to data and information from Gainsight.
  • Escalate support tickets as needed.
  • Test and QA any changes with peers and/or users as applicable.
  • Keep current on available releases, technologies, and applications. Provide guidance to IT and Business leaders as needed. 
  • Participate in day-to-day systems integration of acquired companies as needed. May include data migrations, systems design, configuration changes, etc.
  • Participate in larger IT projects, such as version upgrades or new implementations.
  • Demonstrated project management, business analysis, and problem-solving 
  • Mentor other administrators, support, and other team members.
  • Any other duties assigned to by manager



  • 3+ years in experience in Gainsight as an administrator.
  • At least 2 years prior experience in a customer success, sales operation, client care operations, or similar role.
  • Must have demonstrated administration skills of Gainsight or related products, such as Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, including ability to establish strong relationships with internal customers.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud technologies.
  • Use of Jira or similar project management application/board. 



  • Gainsight experience as an end user 
  • Gainsight NXT Associate Admin Certificate 
  • CRM administration experience or certification
  • Prior Customer Success experience preferred
  • Customer-facing experience, especially as a Customer Success Manager
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership and managers
  • Experience in operations for customer success, sales, support, services, or marketing
  • Experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and design of reports and dashboards
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and database management
