Key Responsibilities

    Product owner Data Lake & Data Warehouse (DWH)

“Make sure Data Intelligence is fully aligned with data-related business requests (B2C, B2B, Content) and all stakeholders are happy” 
You are responsible for defining the platform roadmap. You liaise with stakeholders to help grow in data maturity (agile way of working). You will define and prioritize user stories and own the data platform backlog. You will focus on storytelling, dreating presentations and holding demos. You will participate in key programs as Subject Matter Expert.

    Team lead Data Delivery

“Manage engineering team and steer agile software development in order to process the business requests” 
You will organize SCRUM meetings (priority setting, stand ups, retro). You will allocate tickets to the team members. You will monitor and maintain quality of development (code reviews, tools). You are responsible to ensure implementation of architecture & data governance principles. You will cultivate data engineering team. You will manage incoming data flows and outgoing data flows to target systems (e.g., Marketing tool, DMP). You will manage and monitor operational activities, including communications around incidents. You will manage platform architecture ODS & DWH (SQL, Spark / on premise, cloud-based).

Who are you?
•    You have a minimum of 5 years in IT is required, of which 2 years in a comparable role is strongly preferred;
•    You have experience in the media industry is strongly preferred;
•    You have experience working on Agile development, SCRUM, or other relevant modern development and design practices; 
•    You have experience in architecting data warehouses and big data platforms; 
•    You have knowledge with API driven architectures; ETL and web interfaces; 
•    You have experience in SQL programming language, and good knowledge about NoSQL DB and/or other Big Data Technologies, e.g. Spark; 
•    You have knowledge of BI tooling, for example Business Objects or Tableau. 
•    You are analytical with good inter-personal skills; 
•    You are tenacious, a self-starter, driven and you show initiative; 
•    You are decisive and a pragmatic problem solver; 

•   You have well-developed communication skills, understanding the Dutch language is necessary, speaking is a pré;

•   You are assertive. You are able to engage with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels in the organization, to understand and respond to their needs in rapidly changing environments.

This is where you’ll be working:
You will be part of the Data Intelligence team within the Technology business unit of RTL Nederland - reporting to the Head of Data Intelligence. The media industry is changing rapidly. People watch content more and more on demand - what, when and where they like it. The use of online video services such as Netflix and Videoland are growing in popularity. At RTL Nederland, the largest commercial media and entertainment company in the Netherlands, the role of intelligence increases. There is a wide variety of use cases like customer segmentation, churn prediction, recommendations, forecasting, price optimization, video analyses and many more. 

The Data Intelligence team consists of data engineers and data scientists with top talents from all around the world. The Data Intelligence team builds data science products that are creating business value for RTL and explores new data-driven innovations.
