Accounts Receivable Associate

 

 

The Bertelsmann Accounting Services, operating through Penguin Random House LLC.  is seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate to join their team.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Daily on-line retrieval of bank deposit reports, updating & distribution of the cash receipts spreadsheet
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Daily cash application
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Daily review and research of electronic payments for posting and clearing
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Daily deposit of checks received in Westminster via scanning software
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Responsible for phone/email contact to customers regarding remit information
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">E-mails to client contacts, or other departments, regarding coding of manual entries or inquiries
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Reviews and balances general ledger accounts for accuracy
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Handles in-house inquires by phone, email, or in person
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Handles all refunds processes
  • <span style="font-family:"Trebuchet MS",sans-serif">Daily reconciling and handling of credit card entries, chargebacks and payments

 

Education:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of accounting courses/classes preferred
 

Professional experience / competencies / traits:

 

  • 1-3 Years accounting experience preferred
  • Basic Excel Skills – 75% or higher
  • Strong math, computer and analytical skills
  • PC Proficiency to include Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to set priorities and manage daily workflow
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively advise management of problems/issues
