Sales Manager - Northern Europe

Penguin Random House International Sales is seeking a Sales Manager based in Northern Europe to join the team!  The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for specific title and budget goals within their assigned territory and for the development, management, and improvement of business relationships with select key accounts.  Working specifically to sell all Adult & Children’s US titles, this role also works closely with colleagues in the New York City headquarters and with distribution clients to provide relevant sales and market information.


The Sales Manager will work from a home office ideally based in Sweden, Norway, Finland, or Denmark.


Other responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing sales statistics to determine business growth potentials and strategies.
  2. Continually managing performance goals and monitoring key account and title performance.
  3. Seeking out and initiating plans to secure new customers and sales opportunities.
  4. Suggesting publication strategies including specialized formats and printings.

  • Minimum of 2 years of sales and/or local retail experience, including experience selling internationally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and in at least one Scandinavian language
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Awareness of and ability to professionally interact with other cultures
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year via car, train, and/or plane
