Warehouse Supervisor - 1st Shift

Penguin Random House is the premier provider of distribution services in the publishing industry.  Our fulfillment center, located in Reno, NV  is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our 1st shift.  It is only with a dedicated staff we are able to meet and exceed our customers expectations by picking, packing and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers around the world.


Shift: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:00pm)

Position Responsibilites

  • Works well with people
  • Monitors the flow of work from one department to another and plans effective personnel placement
  • Executes daily priorities set by manager
  • Monitors the activities of employees
  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Submits weekly productivity and labor reports
  • Maintains employee attendance and disciplinary records
  • Monitors the training of new employees and training of all employees when procedures or systems change
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures and enforces as deemed necessary
  • Resolves departmental problems
  • Completes special assignments as requested
  • Must have ability to lead and motivate employees while fostering a team environment.
  • Must have good attendance record


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of a warehouse environment
  • Loose Pick knowledge a plus​​​
  • Prior Supervisory experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of Management and employees throughout Distribution Center and with other external customers
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Possess the ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, work well under pressure, make changes where necessary and multi-task
  • PC Proficiency to include Microsoft Word and Excel
