Maintenance Supervisor

Penguin Random House is the premier provider of distribution services in the publishing industry.  Our fulfillment center, located in Reno, NV  is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor.   


Position Summary:  Supervises all daily maintenance and janitorial activities across two shifts.  Communicates with production management team to ensure facility is running smoothly. 


Salary: 70K (depending on experience)

Shift: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Position Responsibilites

  • Communicate with warehouse management to solve operating problems.
  • Assign work and set priorities for mechanics.
  • Coordinate work between different maintenance shifts.
  • Act as a technical support for problem solving.
  • Order material for planned work.
  • Coordinate the services of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Establishes procedures and schedules for preventive maintenance work.
  • Prepares reports on maintenance activities.
  • Trains mechanics for additional skills and potential promotion.
  • Supervises the janitorial staff in the Maintenance Department.
  • Key user of the CMMS system in the facility.


Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of all building and processing equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once.​​​
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of Management and employees throughout Distribution Center and with other external customers
  • Possess strong leadership skills.
  • Computer skills: email, spreadsheets, maintenance software.


Experience and Education

  • HIgh School degree minimum
  • Some addional training preferred
  • 4-6 years maintenance experience
