Social Media, Associate

We are seeking a creative and analytical Social Media Associate to join the Random House Publishing Group social media team! The Social Media Associate will create highly curated and engaging social media content and manage channels for several imprints, including Del Rey, One World and Random House Books, as well as ensure that content strategy is also reflected in other brand platforms, such as email.


The ideal candidate will have a customer-centric mindset, be a self-starter, perform well under tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a well-organized and detail-oriented fashion. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in steering highly esteemed commercial brands and literary and nonfiction voices into new directions in an open exchange of ideas with marketing, publicity and editorial teams.




•    Use Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok to represent the Del Rey, One World and RH brands, individual books, and authors.

•    Curate and create compelling content related to our authors and books.

•    Collaborate with other teams such as marketing and publicity to work on content strategy, including creation of title-specific social media campaigns and alignment of social strategy with imprint newsletters.

•    Quantify success on follower growth and consumer engagement across various platforms.

•    Manage social media accounts’ content calendars and design needs

•    Use social platform metrics and social listening systems to create reports and perform analysis for ad-hoc projects.

•    Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media




•    One-two years’ experience supporting a brand’s social media feeds.

•    Highly proficient in content creation for Twitter, TikTok and Instagram platforms

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•    Strong organizational and collaboration skills

•    Photography for social media experience a must, design and artistic skills a plus

•    Excellent attention to detail and strong judgement on sensitive matters

•   Proven ability to create and revise designs in a demanding fast-paced environment

•    Understanding of key social measurement metrics. 

•   Knowledge of MS Office, In Design Suite a plus
