Spanish Audio Editor


Penguin Random House Audio is looking for a Spanish language acquisitions editor to develop and grow their Spanish language audio program.   The role will acquire books from both within PRH and from outside publishers.   Working alongside the current audio team, they will participate in the growth of the larger PRH Audio program and will report to the VP, Content and Business Development.  Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented, and aware of trends and changes in the Spanish language marketplace.  Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is required.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage list of Spanish language audio titles.
  2. Coordinate internal Spanish language audio publishing with print division
  3. Acquire Spanish language audio rights from agents and out-of-house publishers.
  4. Receive and consider submissions, negotiate fees and contract terms with agents, and serve as a primary point of contact for editors, the publisher and the subsidiary rights team.
  5. Act as the lead editorial team member on Spanish audio projects and special productions.
  6. Present seasonal lists and set priorities for producers, marketing, publicity, and sales.


Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Written and verbal Spanish language fluency
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of prior publishing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Genuine interest in audiobook industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Ability to work well under pressure and problem-solve
  • Ability to work independently in a team setting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of contract negotiations
  • Strong organizational skills
