The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is seeking a Sales Marketing Assistant to assist the Senior Vice President & Director, Integrated Marketing and the Vice President, Executive Director of Sales Management & Planning.  This exciting role works across the Knopf, Doubleday, Pantheon, Schocken, and Vintage Anchor imprints and is the perfect opportunity to gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of the publishing process and an in-depth education on the book marketplace.


The ideal solutions-focused candidate will have extensive experience working in a hands-on and busy department and will flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Candidates should have excellent organization and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.


The Role:

  • The role will work closely with the Knopf Doubleday Group’s editors, publicists, production teams, and Penguin Random House’s corporate sales colleagues.
  • This position will also be the key point person for sales reps both in-house and around the country.
  • Create and distribute sales materials, setup meetings, prepare marketing summary reports, run sales and inventory reports, and handle invoicing.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Senior Vice President & Director, Integrated Marketing and the Vice President, Executive Director of Sales Management & Planning


The Essentials:

  • Prior internship in a corporate marketing or sales department a plus
  • A self-starter with impeccable attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and accurately complete multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Familiarity of HTML and web analytics a plus
