Sales Assistant, Adult Mass Merch - Clubs - Sales (Open to Remote)
Do you love reading and have a desire to learn more about book sales in publishing? Penguin Random House’s Adult Mass Merch team is looking for a Sales Assistant to join the Clubs team. This position will be responsible for supporting the sales reps who sell the Penguin Random House Adult Core and Client titles to the club accounts (Costco, Sams and BJ’s) and Readerlink/RMS.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Running daily sales reports for titles active in the club accounts
- Running weekly sales by format by retailer
- Assisting with sell in prep for the clubs team- entering title info into sell in grids, tracking down covers and TI Sheets, building Powerpoint presentations
- Entering coop contracts into the system
- Handling comp copy requests for buyers
- Maintaining sales tracking grids
- Maintaining the team calendar of deadlines
- Organize staff calls and agendas
- Attend publisher meetings as needed to take notes or represent the team
The ideal candidate possesses:
- A proven interest in book publishing and sales
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, follow up as needed, and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Proactive and able to independently problem solve
- Must be self-motivated, but with the ability and willingness to work in a team environment
- Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and follow up
The salary for this position is $48,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus subject to company results.
