The Random House Children’s Books School & Library Marketing team seeks a positive, proactive, and detail oriented Marketing Coordinator to work with the Director to build awareness of RHCB picture books, middle grade, and young adult titles and authors with PreK-12 teachers and librarians.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop title marketing plans including brainstorming with the bigger team (trade marketing, digital marketing, publicity), building PowerPoint decks, and executing the plans; this includes creating promotional materials such as discussion guides, classroom kits, and posters
  • Support Director on booking Author Appearances at conferences, festivals, and events, including writing schedules and making travel arrangements
  • Support and work with Assistant Manager to plan RHCB presence at teacher conferences, including International Literacy Association and National Council of Teachers of English; attend conferences and build relationships with educators
  • Build company profile at regional/state librarian and teacher conferences, including finding author appearance and sponsorship opportunities
  • Increase outreach to book clubs within schools and libraries
  • Present RHCB titles at Book Buzz events in the tri-state area and at conferences Perform department responsibilities including but not limited to: managing departmental grids and deadlines, and responding to educator inquiries sent to the departmental email account

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, marketing, or education
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and can work independently as well as in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate should be positive, proactive, and exceptionally organized.
  • Strong communication & writing skills are essential.
  • Travel to conferences, up to 6 times per year.
