Publicity Assistant, Random House Children's Books
Random House Children’s Books is seeking an Assistant to join its Publicity team! The Publicity Assistant role includes a combination of administrative and project support and requires communication with a diverse array of partners: authors, illustrators, agents, booksellers, media, and the various departments of RHCB.
This position will support senior publicity staff with projects related to their Publicity campaigns and book and brand-specific program launches, including media outreach, research, national author tours, event planning and scheduling. There will be opportunity for this Assistant to work on their own title campaigns as well.
The role requires a significant amount of writing and editing of publicity materials, including internal media alert emails, press releases, pitch letters, and press kits. The role will also include other related projects or duties as assigned by the department.

Creating books for toddlers through young adult readers. including Carl Hiaasen (Hoot), Christopher Paolini (The Inheritance Cycle series Nic Stone (Dear Martin), Philip Pullman (The Golden Compass), R. Responsibilities:
- Providing general administrative support, includes monitoring media outlets and distributing news clips, supporting donation work and philanthropic initiatives, executing mailings and media database entry, invoicing and budget work
- Coordinating logistics for meetings, including calendar schedules, preparing meeting materials, and taking notes
- Tracking review coverage
- Organizing detailed author tour and media schedules for campaigns
- Coordinating and executing review copy mailings
- Drafting publicity materials, including galley letters, press releases, pitches

*This hybrid role is based in New York City and will require someone in commutable distance to accompany Publicists to various author interviews, attend various author events, provide support for in-house events, and do media mailings as needed
The salary for this position is $48,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
