Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide administrative support for two VP Directors and other team members as needed, including shipping, invoice processing, and database management
  • Assist with pitching and securing national and local media, including print and online reviews and features, television, and radio interviews
  • Assist with writing press materials, compiling press kits, overseeing galley and finished copy mailings, creating pitch letters, and managing other promotional materials and assets
  • Represent all imprints at local author events and to local community
  • Assemble logistics of book events and tours as needed, including coordinating signing and media in tour markets and handling travel arrangements
  • Monitor general email inbox and other incoming media requests and respond or direct as appropriate
  • Research and seek out new media outlets and pursue online publicity opportunities; make initial calls and follows up on leads
  • Create and manage author itineraries
  • Attend internal title-specific meetings regarding publicity campaigns
  • Follow-up on items to ensure timelines are met
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Performing general administrative duties as needed, including billings, filing, record keeping, expense reports, calendars, etc.

  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment with high-level organizational skills
  • Candidates should also be self-starters with impeccable attention to detail and possess a proactive and independent approach to work
  • Savvy with social media, internet research, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to interact with external and internal business contacts at all levels
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in publicity or media is beneficial, but not required

Salary for this position is $40,000. Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.
