The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is seeking a Publicist to join their talented team of professionals.


The Publicist will develop publicity strategies and implement successful campaigns for a diverse list of titles. This role is responsible for promoting authors and their work through both retail and consumer facing channels, leveraging traditional and digital media to drive awareness, creating publicity materials, developing and managing media relationships, content mailings to media contacts, overseeing national and regional author tours, and helping authors understand the forward process of book publicity and promotion.  The Publicist will work independently on titles, as well as have the opportunity to partner with senior staff members on major author campaigns. 


The ideal candidate:


- 2-3 years of publicity experience

- Demonstrates a creative, innovative and resourceful approach to publicity

- Excellent knowledge of diverse media outlets

- Bookseller and B2B relationships

- A self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills




- Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, communication, and social media skills (must be proficient on all platforms)

- Ability successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- BA in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field, as well as relevant internships and/or professional experience
