Production Editor, Crown Publishing Group


The Crown Publishing Group seeks a Production Editor to join its team. This individual will be working closely with the editorial, design, and production groups; responsible for handling approximately 30 titles per year from manuscript to bound book, ranging from cooking, health, and other illustrated topics to popular and literary fiction, current affairs, business, and religion genres.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Hiring freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers and reviewing their work
  • Coding manuscripts for design and composition
  • Copyediting and proofreading covers, captions, and additional material
  • Creating and maintaining book schedules


Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a trade book production editor, including cookbook experience
  • Team player who is flexible, has strong analytical, copyediting, and organizational skills, and is able to set and meet deadlines
