Production Associate - RHCB

Random House Children’s Book is seeking a creative Production Associate to help support the team with Premium/Special Markets and initial titles.  The Production Associate will help track all steps of book production from estimating to warehouse delivery.  This person will need to work well under pressure, supply estimates quickly, oversee tight schedules, and work effectively with many in-house departments.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with children’s books across multiple formats in a fast-paced environment.


The Production Associate will:


  1. Manage all aspects of production for their assigned titles including, but not limited to, estimating, scheduling, prepress, routing proofs, color correcting, printing and binding, and all vendor contact
  2. Prepress – check files from the designer, preflight, order proofs for approval
  3. Assist with providing estimates on and Special Markets/Premium and initial titles
  4. Handle all Special Markets/Premium reprints and work on standard customization conversions
  5. Color correct proofs with supervision
  6. Assist the team, as needed.




  • Minimum of 2 years of book production experience
  • 1-color and 4-color printing experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external contacts
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), InDesign, and Photoshop
  • SAP experience a plus
