Marketing Manager, Doubleday (Hybrid)

Doubleday, an imprint of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group and home to some of the most iconic authors in the world including Dan Brown, Bonnie Garmus, Percival Everett, David Grann, Hampton Sides, Margaret Atwood, and Colson Whitehead, is seeking a Marketing Manager to execute title-level fiction and non-fiction marketing campaigns. This role reports to Doubleday’s Sr. Marketing Director and will collaborate closely with the Doubleday Editorial, and Publicity teams as well as colleagues across KDPG marketing and PRH sales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about books and well-versed in social media. They will be skilled in crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies to launch new books and authors and build audiences for established writers.  

 

The ideal solutions-focused and data-oriented candidate will have experience working directly with authors and agents and managing campaigns independently. Candidates should have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. 

 

Specific responsibilities include:   

  • Campaign Development: Ideate, develop, and execute innovative and data-driven marketing plans across social media, paid media, influencer campaigns, partnerships and email marketing. Adapt strategies based on market data, consumer trends, and performance metrics. 
  • Effective Communication: Clearly communicate marketing plans and strategies for authors and their agents as well as to in-house teams, including publishing, editorial, and sales departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration across all functions. 
  • Asset Coordination: Partner with the design team to create compelling assets for campaigns, including digital content, email marketing materials, social media graphics, and more. 
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough post-mortem analysis of each campaign, sharing insights and recommendations for future marketing opportunities and improvements. 
  • Competitive Analysis: Keep abreast of industry best practices in trade paperback publishing and emerging trends that could drive backlist sales in order to inform and improve campaigns.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in book marketing.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills. 
    • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
    • Proactive and exceptionally organized, with a keen attention to detail. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience designing marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva preferred. 

 

The PRH office is located in New York, New York. This is a hybrid position with a minimum requirement of 2 days per week in the office. 

 

The salary for this position is $73,500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
