Penguin Young Readers is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join their team. The Marketing Assistant provides administrative support to the SVP of Marketing and the VP, Creative Marketing Director for Penguin Young Readers Group.  The Assistant acts as the Operations contact for the Retail Marketing department and is included in seasonal brainstorming meetings to develop retail marketing campaigns for titles across all Young Readers imprints.

 

Responsibilites: 

 

  • Acts as the point person for distributing marketing information across the Young Readers division.
  • Prepares and distributes marketing plans for each season.
  • Creates and coordinates presentations for divisional meetings such as presales meetings and sales conference.
  • Schedules and coordinates strategy and imprint meetings.
  • Provides administrative support (manage schedules, takes messages, files, photocopies, assists with the updating of marketing plans, makes travel arrangements) to two supervisors and other areas of the department as needed.
  • Provides support with the marketing budget including coding invoices and general troubleshooting with finance and accounting.
  • Liaises with Sales, Production, Marketing and Operations to provide print estimates and pack up instructions for each release.
  • Gathers all quantities for promotional materials across departments.

 

Requirements/Qualifications

 

  • Interest in marketing and budget tracking
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
