Job Description

As Penguin Random House builds a more global, connected approach to technology, we are looking for a Global Technology Program Manager to help shape and support our recently established Global Technology organization.

Technology plays a critical role across Penguin Random House: powering the systems behind our books, supporting our authors and booksellers, strengthening our warehouses and supply chains, and helping us connect with readers in new and meaningful ways.

The Program Manager will work closely with the Global CIO Office and senior stakeholders across PRH to help translate this vision into action. The Program Manager will report to the Senior Director, Global Strategy and be part of the Global Strategy team, where each member focuses on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives across all regions.

This is an ideal role for someone who understands technology and can quickly get up to speed on complex topics, but who is equally strong at seeing the broader business picture. Ideal candidates are excellent communicators, highly organized, and able to bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment. This role is a great fit for someone who is curious, organized, and collaborative, with strong analytical and communication skills. You thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are motivated to help drive projects forward and deliver meaningful results.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Global Technology leadership to translate the Global Technology vision into clear priorities, initiatives, and measures of progress.
  • Coordinate and track high-priority initiatives across a complex, global organization and translate broad objectives into structured workplans, milestones, decisions, and next steps.
  • Draft clear, concise, and compelling communications for senior leadership, including executive presentations, strategic updates, organizational communications, briefing materials, and talking points.
  • Work with the Global CIO Office to define agendas, prepare recommendations, document decisions, and ensure follow-through.
  • Support change management as the Global Technology organization continues to evolve, partnering with HR to help teams understand new structures, responsibilities, and ways of working.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in strategy, technology, consulting, business operations, strategic projects, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of technology organizations and concepts, with the ability to engage credibly with technology leaders and quickly learn unfamiliar technical topics.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to turn complex or ambiguous information into clear, concise, executive-ready communications and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous questions and develop practical paths forward.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex and changing organization, balancing longer-term strategic objectives with immediate priorities.
  • Collaborative and diplomatic, while also comfortable proactively driving work forward and following up with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a global environment and collaborating across time zones.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and how they can enable business transformation, particularly AI, data, automation, enterprise platforms, and technology-enabled process change.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies or in a global organization is a plus.
  • Publishing or media experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
