We are seeking a talented ebook enthusiast to work with our PRH Ebooks Development and Operation team in making our ebooks their best selves. This candidate will be an intermediary between vendors, customers, production teams and development teams, advocating for the product both internally across our publishing teams and externally in our work with industry standards. The candidate will help define and drive product feature improvements in our ebooks and in the tools we use to make them. The Ebook Technical Product Manager will understand and interpret the needs of the various business parties they liaise with in our development team, our production teams and others. An ideal candidate will help identify and prevent roadblocks across teams to meet quality standards, project deadlines, and business objectives. The Ebook Technical Product Manager will manage the long-term road map of product development while working closely with the VP, Ebook Technologies, the SVP, Ebook Development and Operations, and the development team. They will test and implement best practices and share new ideas as technology improvements are made.  We are looking for a detail-oriented, meticulous self-starter who is accountable, passionate, assertive, proactive, adaptable, and results oriented.



  • Work with customers and vendors on the technical level to describe and correct issues with the rendering of ebooks in market
  • Work closely with ebook production teams, development, and divisional groups, contributing directly to the planning, documentation and execution of the continued improvement of our ebooks and processes
  • Assist our production teams during requirements gathering, development, and detailed specification work
  • Research solutions to problems, and develop best practices and standards for the present and future
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and triage production problems as they occur
  • Solve difficult problems through research and innovation
  • Create and update documentation
  • Assist in training as required



  • Knowledge in the following areas:
    • EPUB and Ebook reading systems technologies
    • XHTML
    • CSS
    • Scripting or programming languages (such as JavaScript, Python, SQL)
    • GIT usage and software engineering best practices
    • Experience working with JIRA
  • Experience working in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management
  • Experience working with standards organizations desirable
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
  • Strong customer orientation and great communication skills
  • Must be a good problem solver
  • Must be a self-starter that can self-manage their daily workload
  • Ability to work independently (self-driven, focused and analytic)
  • Passionate about quality and seeing things to completion
  • Passion for learning - remaining current on new technologies
  • Desire for continuous improvement - determining process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • 3-5 years experience in a Development Operations environment
