Penguin Random House Publisher Services is looking for a Manager to join their client development team.  This position will be responsible for the on-going development of the PRHPS client portfolio. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of the client development process, from identifying prospective clients to negotiating and finalizing all details of completed contracts.  This position reports to VP, Business Development and Publishing Strategy.

 

Specifically, the Manager, Client Development:

 

  • Identifies prospective clients for PRHPS portfolio. Determines best-fit client publishers and sees through the process of recruitment
  • Negotiates contracts with prospective clients
  • Develops and maintains prospective client pipeline
  • Provides regular reporting on new client development to PRHPS executive team
  • Responsible for renewal process for existing client base
  • Develops proposals and financial models for prospective clients
  • Liaises with sales, legal, warehouse, operations and finance divisions of PRHPS to ensure smooth transition for newly-signed clients

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a publishing or business development role
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
