
The Director of Sales, Christian Market is responsible for driving revenue growth and long-term market leadership across the full Christian publishing landscape. This role sets strategy and leads execution across all Christian market channels—including distributors, retailers, churches, ministries, specialty accounts, and emerging platforms—while serving as Penguin Random House’s internal authority on the Christian consumer and marketplace.
Operating with a broad, market-facing lens, this role partners closely with Sales leadership across all trade channels, as well as Publishing, Marketing, Publicity, Finance, and Operations, to unlock growth across frontlist and backlist titles.
While hybrid NYC is preferred, we will consider remote (US) candidates with the right skills/experience/interest.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Own and execute a comprehensive sales and growth strategy for the full Christian market.
- Lead and develop the Christian Market Sales team.
- Build senior-level relationships with key Christian market partners.
- Collaborate with channel Sales Directors on national account growth.
- Maximize opportunities across PRH imprints.
- Analyze sales performance and market trends.
- Partner on go-to-market strategies.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and promotions.
- Partner cross-functionally to support execution.

- 7+ years of experience in trade book publishing required; experience in book sales/account management preferred
- Knowledgeable of Christian and trade book market including publishing trends
- Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels and functions within an organization
- Strategic and executional mindset
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Willingness/ability to travel
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
