DK, a publisher of award-winning, illustrated reference, video game guides, children’s and life style trade books is seeking a Managing Editorial Coordinator to Support the Managing Editorial team within DK in maintaining an organized work flow.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Manage jackets across all categories, with detailed spec checking, reviewing design, and ensuring all editorial comments are taken in for final approval.
  • Coordinate competitive cover research that best illustrate the content and more importantly, be suitable and appealing for the US market.
  • Prepare for jacket meetings, give input, and take notes of discussion to inform everyone about jacket status.
  • Update the live PowerPoint presentations with the latest jackets and alert Sales about the changes on a weekly basis.
  • Compare jackets labeled as final in B3 against approval records, notify group to chase any discrepancies.
  • Assist Marketing with design needs.
  • Create effective designs for Special Sales projects.
  • Collaborate with teams in the UK to collect jackets and spreads for new titles and create PowerPoint presentations for Launch and Presales each season.
  • Review jackets checking for accuracy and that details are correct—managing the flow of approvals.
  • Help with any other objectives that will benefit the group’s success.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Detail oriented, able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, G Suite, FTP
  • 2 year degree in Design
