Clarkson Potter, leading publisher of lifestyle books and part of the Crown Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, Inc., seeks an editor/senior editor specializing in cookbooks to become part of our superlative team. 


Responsibilities and requirements include:

• Stewardship and acquisition of approximately 10 titles annually

• Identifying new talent, including authors, category leaders, and photographers

• Strong interest in illustrated book design and ability to collaborate with our award-winning design and production departments

• Partnering with our marketing and publicity departments to develop strategic plans and opportunities for acquired titles

• Excellent verbal, writing, and visual skills; strong organizational capability; attention to detail; and enthusiasm for an entrepreneurial approach to acquiring


The idea candidate possesses:

• A 4-year degree or equivalent experience      

• A minimum of 5 to 7 years editorial experience

• Thorough knowledge of the illustrated book process

• Strong agent and culinary contacts

• A genuine interest in home cooking and awareness of food and restaurant trends
