Client Sales Manager, Penguin Random House Publisher Services

 

Penguin Random House Publisher Services provides sales and distribution to a wide roster of independent client publishers. The PRHPS Client Sales team is seeking a Sales Manager to work with a group of publishers with a focus on adult titles in the graphic novel and pop culture categories. The candidate will be responsible for working with the publishers and the reps to maximize sales opportunities across all sales channels through positioning titles, inventory management, and managing titles from the time they’re added to our system to when they’re out in the marketplace.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Monitoring sales and managing inventory levels on titles
  • Working with publishers to ensure titles are set up properly in our systems and materials are available to reps for their sales calls
  • Responding to requests from sales reps for title information and sales opportunities
  • Holding calls with publishers to review sales numbers on an ongoing basis
  • Participating in sales meetings with publishers and sales reps and handling follow-up from those meetings
  • Presenting to publishers and sales reps
  • Setting up promotions for publishers, announcing to sales, and tracking customer participation 
  • Taking on new client publishers as needed and managing the sales integration process

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience in the publishing industry with knowledge of the sales cycle
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented with great follow-through
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet multiple deadlines within the same span of time
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • An interest or appreciation of graphic novels and comics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
