Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Lead – PRH Publishing Operations
Perfectionist wanted! The Business Analyst / QA Lead will work on projects and maintenance of the Penguin Random House SAP system, which supports core processes used by Penguin Random House employees and distribution clients.
The QA Lead will work as part of the 10 person Publishing Operations Systems team to help manage the testing efforts on large scale projects and provide assistance and guidance to other team members on test scripts and execution on a variety of projects.
This is a business analyst position and does not require coding experience.

Responsibilities:
- Create test scripts for unit, load, acceptance, and migration testing efforts across a variety of projects
- Collaborate with team members to refine their testing plans and provide estimated timelines
- Assist in testing execution as needed
- Identify additional opportunities or products to automate or streamline testing
- Work with senior team members to create regression test scripts for key SAP transactions and programs
- Communicate test results back to analysts and developers and work to resolve issues
- Build Auto Hot Key scripts and/or Excel macros to facilitate testing efforts
- Troubleshoot system issues with the user community and IT: these issues include tracking down data problems on individual titles, mass data updates, and system configuration among others; triage and escalate appropriately
Requirements:
- Proven ability to develop test scripts for software development
- 3 – 5 years of ERP testing or analyst experience required
- SAP MM/PP is a plus
- PS module is a plus
- Ability to understand ABAP code a plus
- Analytical, data-driven approach; logical thinker with ability to articulate meaningful conclusions found in the data
- Advanced Excel / Access Macros writing experience required
- Experience with Auto Hot Key and Beyond Compare are a plus
- Ability to build consensus among multiple project participants
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced SQL query writing experience a plus
- Experience in book publishing is a big plus
