The Penguin Random House Audio Publishing Group seeks a Publicist to join their team, working on the Penguin Audio, Random House Audio, Listening Library and BOT imprints.

 

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Generating ideas for publicizing the audiobook format and Penguin Random House Audio’s list of 1000+ recordings a year in particular, covering a wide range of genres, from celebrity memoir, to politics and YA/children’s books
  • Working with the Studio Production and Marketing teams to identify key upcoming titles and opportunities
  • Writing pitches and press releases, booking interviews with actors and authors and placing audio excerpts
  • Developing and launching an influencer outreach program
  • Staffing events and conventions, such as BookCon and Comic Con International, as well as pitching and organizing several in-store events and/or book festival appearances per year for our actors and authors
  • Researching, creating and maintaining media lists
  • Coordinating with the Publicity Assistant on weekly review mailings and review copy requests
  • Liaising with other Penguin Random House publicity departments and authors to include audio in their campaigns

 

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of publicity experience; experience in book publishing, particularly the children’s and YA market, is highly preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be high-energy and passionate about books, possess exceptional writing and communication skills, display keen attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
