Associate, Marketing - RHCB

Random House Children’s Books is currently seeking an Associate, School & Library Marketing to join the School & Library team. This position will report to the Executive Director, School & Library Marketing and work with the full team on departmental responsibilities and to implement marketing plans aimed at increasing awareness and driving sales within the school & library market as well as title specific campaigns.  


This role will work will have the opportunity to work across the entire RHCB Marketing and Publicity teams as well as with editors, publishers, and Sales team and with our catalog of bestselling authors and brands like Dr. Seuss, Magic Tree House, Candace Fleming, Tae Keller, Nic Stone, Nicola Yoon, Holly Jackson, and E. Lockhart.


Responsibilities include:


  1. Responsible for state and educational awards strategy and implementation including submissions and author travel
  2. Work closely with the Executive Director, School & Library marketing to develop and implement creative and strategic frontlist and backlist marketing plans for assigned titles with a goal of engaging librarians and teachers; Includes writing copy, coordinating with design and production and distributing finished materials
  3. Support team in planning and executing in person and virtual conferences and events.
  4. Assist team with social media and website projects, such as writing copy, posting, archiving assets, etc.
  5. Work with the Director, Library Marketing, Associate Director, School Marketing and Sales Reps to plan and execute library and educational jobber advertising, including both print and digital promotions, writing copy and coordinating with design
  6. Coordinate book and materials mailings, updating internal documents and systems
  7. Perform online research to acquire and update School & Library contact lists




  • At least 2 years prior marketing experience required. Experience in publishing or School & Library marketing a plus.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and can work independently as well as in a team
  • Creative thinker with an eye to problem solving and process
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate should be proactive and exceptionally organized, able to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills are essential
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various locations for trade shows


Salary for this role is $50,000.00
