PROGRAM DETAILS
Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series!
 
Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $20/hour. 

 

Eligible candidates:

  • Current undergraduate students who will graduate on or before May 2024 or
  • Current students in graduate degree programs and/or 
  • Workforce ready applicants

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Production Editorial

Oversees the copyediting, proofreading, and indexing of titles across our adult and children’s imprints. Production editors review text, proofread jackets and manuscripts, and hire and oversee the work of freelancers. Collaborating with editorial, art/design, and various departments, our production editors confirm all corrections are properly made before the manuscript goes to print.

 

Some responsibilities may include copyediting and proofreading various materials including TI sheets, reader guides, cover copy and marketing materials, learning how to slug (check changes), assisting with freelancer communication and attending book scheduling meetings.
