2021 Spring Internship: Marketing

Learn about the world of publishing!

Discover career opportunities in our MARKETING department.

Our dedicated team of publishing professionals is committed to helping authors realize their very best work and to finding innovative new ways of bringing stories and ideas to audiences worldwide. Find your story in our books!

Penguin Random House is excited to offer remote paid internship opportunities within our Marketing departments.  Our Marketing departments help readers discover our books through creative marketing campaigns, social media engagement, and target advertising for our adult, children, and audio books.  The Marketing departments work closely with multiple teams including Editorial, Publicity, Sales, Design, and many more. Our marketers need to know what’s trending, who the target audience is, and how to best reach them.

While Penguin Random House is inclusive of all people, the Spring 2021 Remote Internship Program is intended to provide opportunities for racially/ethnically underrepresented groups in the publishing industry.

Specific responsibilities and tasks may include:

  • Assisting with marketing campaigns
  • Influencer and target audience research
  • Collaborating with bloggers and other platforms including Goodreads
  • General support for marketing projects including competitive title research, creating marketing presentations, requesting covers, and proofreading marketing materials
  • Attending meetings with various teams
  • Special projects may include writing social media posts, newsletter and email copy, sales research, and analytics projects

Interns will learn about the marketing process, publishing industry, and our business through a series of virtual employee speaker events over the course of the program.

Spring interns work for 14 hours per week for 8 weeks and are paid $20/hr. Intern schedules will be flexible to account for candidates who may be located in a variety of time zones.
