Penguin Random House is looking for a digital design intern to assist the Human Resources Recruiting team. This intern will be responsible for creating original social media content, scheduling posts, distributing a monthly newsletter, researching ways to grow our audience on all platforms, and assisting with other ad hoc HR related tasks. Supporting three recruiters, this is a terrific opportunity to continually develop social media design skills and work in a fun, team-oriented environment.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Building original content and scheduling posts for the Careers focused Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn channels.
  2. Designing images for all of the social media platforms and creating a backlog of images to use at later points.
  3. Brainstorming ideas and executing other social media series/campaigns.
  4. Creating social media performance reports.
  5. Liking, commenting, and interacting with our audience on each platform.
  6. Creating and overseeing the monthly intern outreach newsletter.
  7. Providing general HR related administrative support, including filing, organizing, conducting reference checks, and scheduling interviews.

 

 Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Previous office experience a plus
  • Genuine interest in book publishing
  • Proven ability to create and revise designs under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of social media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of MailChimp a plus
  • Photography skills a plus
