Senior Designer, Web

Your Challenge:


The Penguin Random House Creative Media Design team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Designer to join our hands-on collaborative team. The Senior Designer will collaborate with Consumer Marketing teams to strategize, conceptualize, and oversee the design and production of various web and print projects. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to learn and share creative ideas, is passionate about design, and a solid understanding of working with type. The Senior Designer will report to the Creative Media Design Director.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Supporting Design Director in collaborating with various Consumer Marketing teams to develop create guidelines and execution strategies for digital marketing projects (web, email, social, etc.)
  • Presenting digital marketing projects to internal stakeholders
  • Working with Junior Designers to schedule, produce, and deliver on-brand design assets
  • Designing and preparing for production print assets as needed
  • Demonstrating a strong sense of typography, layout, and composition
  • Transitioning between multiple projects while managing deadlines efficiently
  • Operating independently as well as in a larger group


Your Profile:


The ideal candidate:


  • 3-5 years experience working in Graphic Design
  • Great fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Detail-oriented and has a conscientious approach to the work
  • Should be a conceptual designer, able to convey ideas through design
  • An excellent listener, can display patience and level-headedness especially while fielding time-sensitive requests (client-facing experience a plus)
  • Experience with UX design (not required but a plus)
  • Experience with illustration work (not required but a plus)
  • Experience with animation (not required but a plus)
  • Experience with photography (not required but a plus)
  • An interest in books, authors, publishing (not required but a plus)
