Junior Designer - Marketing Design, Audio

We are currently seeking a Junior Designer to join the Marketing Design department in the Penguin Random House Audio Division. Working closely with the design, marketing, and web-development teams in the Audio group, this position will play a crucial role in creating engaging advertising campaigns across a variety of platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conceptualizing and designing social media assets and digital advertising, including takeovers, overlays, and banners.
  2. Designing static and animated ads.
  3. Creating print ads and trade show materials, including signage and other marketing collateral.
  4. Image research, as well as resizing, retouching, and color correction of images.
  5. Actively maintaining knowledge of design and marketing trends for use in advertising campaigns.
  6. Providing support to other designers on projects.


Please apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months’ visual design experience, preferably with background or strong interest in marketing design
  • Motion graphics and video experience as well as knowledge of graphic design principles
  • Knowledge of and experience using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Ambition for breakthrough design, while respecting deadlines and overall direction
  • Aptitude for forward-thinking, cross-platform design concepts
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects)


Additional preferred skills:

  • Knowledge of agile development process
  • Experience with user interface design, including mobile device standards and responsive design
  • Light experience or interest in user experience design
  • Knowledge of Sketch and InVision
  • Proficiency with HTML and CSS
